The Institute of Imagination is delighted to announce our third theme 'Metropolis', which will create a Lab space to empower children and families to explore the evolving city through materials, shapes and functions.
The world’s cities are rapidly changing. The UN predicts that by 2050, over 65% of the world’s population will live in urban areas. How we live, work, play and socialise in these ever growing Metropolises is evolving.
Our new theme will transform our Imagination Lab into an environment that invites families to explore how cities will develop through the eyes of the child. We are inviting children aged 3 – 10 and their parents and carers to play and experiment with different material, shapes and sounds and functions.
Participants will have the opportunity to create a water wall, shape and build with kinetic sand, create a new metropolis using customised cardboard shapes, apply sound to the city and work in virtual environments using VR.
We are also excited to announce the arrival of the Institute of Imagination’s first interactive installation: The Anemone. This giant sea shaped creature will invite you to switch on your imagination in the Lab and beyond.
This theme has kindly been supported by Lambeth Council and Vauxhall One.
