A Creative Cultural Installation – Call for Artists, Scientists, Technologists
Creativity, ideas and invention begin with inspiration and a spark of imagination. With the launch of our new Imagination Lab in January 2017, we are delighted to announce a commission for our new 3,000 sq. ft. lab space in the heart of London.
With the support from ICF International Charitable Foundation, The Institute of Imagination is inviting artists, scientists, technologists, makers and those who work across disciplines to create an inspiring installation that can live interactively within our Imagination Lab.
We are searching for an individual or collective who can create a piece of work that will interpret interaction in different ways, possibly in both a physical and digital sense. The piece might change and evolve as the thousands of visitors we work with in 2017 flow through our dynamic programme of events and workshops. It could show live data, respond to touch, work in a cognitive way, light up or create sound.
Ultimately we want the installation to reach out and involve all of our participants from children aged 5-14 to their families and carers. We will shortlist a small number of applicants and ask them to present their ideas at one of our events on 11 February. Then with the help our audiences, and a selection panel, we will announce a winner.
The deadline for submissions is Friday 27 January at 5pm. The total budget for this commission, including fees, is £20,000. For more information on applying please download the brief.
