Festival of Imagination gets five-star reviews

“I loved it!” Child participant

Over 850 school children, teachers and families joined us and our partners for our first Festival of Imagination at Chats Palace in Hackney last month.

During the course of the week, 360 children from eight local primary schools attended workshops run by our partners Kano and Blippar.

At the weekend, we opened the doors to local families, who could choose from ten different stations with activities ranging from building computers, making rockets and a winter forest to exploring sound waves and how babies’ vision develops from the moment they’re born.

The verdict from children, teachers, and parents was overwhelmingly positive. Of the parents and carers we asked, all said they would come to one of our events again, and three quarters gave the event a five-star rating!

What parents said:

“Excellent afternoon spent with the children participating in various activities – even I was inspired to make a contribution in making a spider to add to the forest. Good day had by all. Thank you and more please!”

“Kids loved it, especially the craft and video making. Staff were lovely and encouraged kids to do whatever they wanted – its been a wonderful afternoon and so nice to have it held locally. Thanks!”

“Outstanding!”
