Michelle Borda Imagination Hub Project Manager
In her work as a Creative Educator, Michelle is continually exploring ways to ignite children’s creativity. She is particularly interested in the Maker Movement and STEAM activities. Michelle has an MA in the Psychology of Creativity from the UAB in Barcelona; she has been a Creative Fellow at the Children’s Creativity Museum in San Francisco and she founded the first Children’s Film Festival in Lima, Peru. She is currently the Imagination Hub Project Manager at iOi, while also studying an MA in Primary Education at UCL.
Peter Mace Experience and Learning
Pete is a full-time dad of 3 and a freelance technologist with a background in engineering and years of experience designing, tinkering and building a variety of technology projects. He has spent the last few years as a regular volunteer and associate of the iOi.
Jana Manuelpillai Experience and Learning
Jana has a Masters in museology specialising in museum learning and spent much of his early career in gallery education within the Barber Institute of Fine Arts, the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art and the Mall Galleries -where he initiated their first education programme targeting schools in disenfranchised areas of London. He has recently provided consultancy to the Estorick Collection, Ben Uri Museum, Westminster Abbey and Action Space, a charity for artists with disabilities.
Kira Montague Facilitator
Kira is an integrative arts psychotherapist and community support worker. Having worked in after-school clubs and youth projects, she now specialises in working with vulnerable and disengaged young people. Recently, she has become an honorary arts psychotherapist within the NHS and is working with SEN children in primary schools.
Jess Nash Facilitator
Jess is an illustrator and workshop facilitator. With a background in art and education she has devised workshops across the UK for cultural organisations including Refugee Week and Dulwich Picture Gallery. Jess continues to work with labs, museums and galleries nationwide creating workshops for both children and adults and loves being part of the iOi team.
Anna Quayle Development Manager
Anna is a major gift fundraiser who has worked part-time in iOi’s development team since 2014. She worked in the NSPCC Core Donor team before becoming Head of Volunteer Board Fundraising during the £250m FULL STOP Appeal. Anna previously worked for the Giving Campaign, promoting tax-effective philanthropy within the UK. She took a break from the voluntary sector whilst growing a family and now all three of her children love attending iOi events!
Karien Stroucken Imagination Lab Associate
As an experienced project & programmer manager, Karien specialises in bringing to life projects that combine creativity, technology and education. She was formerly General Manager of the Creative Learning Lab, Waag Society, Amsterdam and is founder of the Tipping Point Network.
Laura Warren Facilitator
As an outdoor and art educator, Laura has worked with children, adults and volunteers on programmes which harness nature, horticulture and the arts to support emotional wellbeing and inspire creativity and resourcefulness. A Forest School Practitioner, she has successfully devised and led outdoor education programmes for school groups at the YHA Southdowns. Laura is also creating a youth engagement programme of events, activities and training for the RSPB.
