Who are we?

From the first mark on a cave wall to the first footsteps on the Moon, our greatest developments have begun with leaps of someone’s imagination.

The Institute of Imagination is a charity creating space to re-imagine our world, together. Our goal is to spark imaginations everywhere through our events, training, partnerships and research. We deliver activities for children and young people, families, schools, adults and educators across London and beyond. Find out what activities are coming up on our whats on page.

We’re currently on a journey towards a permanent home, the Institute of Imagination Campus, a new world-class cultural destination coming to London. It will be a place for everyone, with children and families at its heart. A place to make, create, play and explore together. We’ll be announcing more soon – follow our progress and find out how to support us. More about us

“The Institute of Imagination will be a fantastic place to nurture and cultivate the ideas, imagination and dreams of our children. They will be the designers, directors, artists, actors, programmers and architects of tomorrow, and a place dedicated to fostering creativity will be a tremendous addition to British culture, both now and for the future.”

Former Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Matt Hancock

  • words of support

“I’m delighted to support the Institute of Imagination’s ambitious plans to create a world-class destination with children at its heart. The capital is a global hub of creativity, and it’s only right that we look to foster the creative minds of tomorrow, encouraging youngsters to think big and to let their imaginations run riot! Join me in supporting this one-of-a-kind destination, which will be open to all children and families across the city and beyond.” Justine Simons, Deputy Mayor for Culture and Creative Industries
