iOi at Home brings The Institute of Imagination’s creative workshops and programmes directly into your home. Find out more about the current projects we're running here.
What is iOi at Home?
In this new normal we believe creativity and imagination is more important than ever. We want our activities to be available in person as well as also in the home. That’s why we are launching iOi at Home: creative projects that you can do from your kitchen table, your sofa or even from your phone!
iOi at Home is all about building new skills, supporting wellbeing and helping to adapt to our rapidly changing world. We want to support children aged 5 – 12 and their parents, carers and teachers with playful learning programmes. It’s about building confidence and aspiration, particularly for those who need it most.
Our iOi at Home creativity programmes will be available via new online channels and supported with digital tools. We recognise that not everyone has access to these tools so to accompany iOi at Home we are also launching a Digital Lending Library. It’s a lending system for those who don’t have access to digital devices or internet connectivity. Digital lending will ensure that everyone can access our interactive online workshops with our dedicated imagination practitioners.
iOi at Home will launch in targeted communities across London, before being made available more widely.
Our first iOi at Home programme will focus on the London borough of Newham. You can find out more about what we’ll be up to here.
Beginning in the autumn of 2020, our iOi at Home pilot programme ‘Flying Futures’ will provide videos, resources and access to creative digital apps to help children play with aerodynamics. We’ll also provide challenges and tutorials to create virtual simulations.
Supported by Rolls-Royce, we’ll be working with community partners to bring these experiences directly to Newham families.
We are expanding our work in Lambeth through our iOi at Home Programme and Digital Lending Library.
We are currently looking for schools and organisations to partner with to share our resources with children and families across the borough.
From March 2021 we will be starting with our ‘Flying Futures’ project and will provide videos, resources and access to creative digital apps to help children play with aerodynamics. We’ll also provide challenges and tutorials to create virtual simulations.
