Happy World Book Day from everyone at the Institute of Imagination. On this day of celebration for the wonderful worlds, characters and plots that have burst into the world from the imaginations of authors throughout the ages, we wanted to share with you some words from Dame Jacqueline Wilson, award-winning author and former Children’s Laureate (and someone who has been inspiring generations of imaginations across the globe!)
Dame Jacqueline Wilson lent her voice in support of the importance of imagination and our Imagination Matters campaign and we couldn’t be happier to have received these words from her.
“If I were a Good Fairy at Sleeping Beauty’s christening I’d bestow on her a vivid imagination. I think it’s so important to nurture every child’s imagination. It increases their empathy and emotional understanding, is vital for their creativity and staves off boredom!”
Dame Jacqueline Wilson
We hope that you and your family spend the day immersed in your favourite book, discover a new author or perhaps even start a literary masterpiece today!
