February and March events at the Imagination Lab and beyond
Our new programme of events is now open for booking! In February and March at the Imagination Lab, we’ll be exploring how science and art combine for innovative outcomes.
The theme will run across all our events, culminating in the return of Lab Live – our festival event at the Imagination Lab and in the 12,000 sq ft Engine Room at the Workshop in Vauxhall. Lab Live: Sci-Art will bring together a host of creator and maker stalls, where families can do everything from building a DaVinci-inspired flying machine and testing it in our wind tunnel, to creating new worlds using virtual reality and trying out a STEAM Co. Air Rocket Launcher.
Other highlights include the return of our popular Coding Camps with FUZE, where children will learn to code using a real text based programming language. They’ll get to code simple programs, control electronic circuits, interact with sensors and even code a robot arm!
We’ll also be welcoming back our Lab Late lectures for adults, with what’s set to be a fascinating talk from Angus Forbes on managing the biosphere. You’ll be able to hear Angus’s arguments for the need for a global organisation to manage the biosphere and to shoulder our responsibility to create a maintenance system for the long term benefit of the planet (plus a glass of wine!)
Our Lambeth Community Programme continues, with creative Tinkering Clubs where local residents can try their hand at making funky sound instruments and buzz wire games, plus we’ll be out and about at the Festival of Opportunities at the Rosendale Community Centre
We hope to see you at one our events soon. Don’t forgot to sign up to our newsletter to be the first to hear about new events and activities .
