Michelle Borda Programmes Manager: Imagination Hub
In her work as a Creative Educator, Michelle is continually exploring ways to ignite children’s creativity. She is particularly interested in the Maker Movement and STEAM activities. Michelle has an MA in the Psychology of Creativity from the UAB in Barcelona; she has been a Creative Fellow at the Children’s Creativity Museum in San Francisco and she founded the first Children’s Film Festival in Lima, Peru. She is currently the Imagination Hub Programme Manager at iOi, while also studying an MA in Primary Education at UCL.
James Brown Imagination Lab Technician
James has worked with SEND children and their families across a variety of initiatives and organisations for several years. He has a background working with children with additional needs through experiential therapies and sensory play. His expertise helps the iOi team ensure that SEND children are able to have their strengths recognised and nurtured. Alongside his work with children and families, James makes excellent use of a background in property development to meticulously manage events, keep the Imagination Lab running smoothly and ensure our tech is tip top.
Paul Clifford Programmes Manager: Lambeth
Paul has spent his working life in formal and informal education creating exciting and powerful learning experiences for a range of audiences. Over the last 17 years he has worked as a Digital Learning Programmes Manager in museums including the British Museum and the Museum of London and has developed and delivered Maker activities for over 30 cultural organisations, big and small. Jana Manuelpillai Facilitator
Jana has a Masters in museology specialising in museum learning and spent much of his early career in gallery education within the Barber Institute of Fine Arts, the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art and the Mall Galleries -where he initiated their first education programme targeting schools in disenfranchised areas of London. He has recently provided consultancy to the Estorick Collection, Ben Uri Museum, Westminster Abbey and Action Space, a charity for artists with disabilities.
Jess Nash Facilitator
Jess is an illustrator and workshop facilitator. With a background in art and education she has devised workshops across the UK for cultural organisations including Refugee Week and Dulwich Picture Gallery. Jess continues to work with labs, museums and galleries nationwide creating workshops for both children and adults and loves being part of the iOi team.
Karien Stroucken Programmes Manager: Lab
As an experienced project & programmer manager, Karien specialises in bringing to life projects that combine creativity, technology and education. She was formerly General Manager of the Creative Learning Lab, Waag Society, Amsterdam and is founder of the Tipping Point Network.
Fran Meana Facilitator
Fran is a contemporary artist with a strong interest in alternative forms of education. Some of his most recent projects have involved collaborations with scientists, engineers and computer programmers, as well as international cultural institutions like La Casa Encendida and Tabakalera. Alongside his art practice and his role at iOi, Fran continues to work in arts education, partnering with organisations like the Koestler Trust, Bag Books and a variety of schools around London.
