Rangoonwala Foundation

In September 2017 we launched the Lambeth Community Programme, a series of free workshops and events for residents of the borough of Lambeth. This two-year community programme is generously supported by the Rangoonwala Foundation. Since the launch of the programme, 1,928 children and adults have participated in the Lambeth Community Programme. We are incredibly pleased to have received resoundingly positive feedback from children, teachers and parents alike, and are proud of the community’s positive engagement with the iOi and the Imagination Lab. International Charitable Foundation

The International Charitable Foundation has kindly supported the Institute of Imagination’s first Cultural Residency based at the Imagination Lab. Super City, a concept proposed by artists Jim Bond, Helaina Sharpley and Samantha Bryan, ran a series of workshops in which a city of buildings populated by people, buses, bicycles and trees is created and evolved. John Lyon’s Charity

John Lyon’s Charity supports our work across nine northwest London boroughs. With the charity’s support we help deliver workshops that focus on robotics, coding, crafting, circuit building and prototyping. Marlborough Primary School, who we’ve been working with for several years, in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea wanted the Institute of Imagination’s help in creating a dedicated space for making. With John Lyon’s support we co-created a programme to help Marlborough create a MakerSpace, a multi-use space for tinkering and experimenting across year groups, in the school. Recently we visited Marlborough and Alex Gingell, Deputy Head Teacher, shared with us how working with the iOi helped him to set up and run the MakerSpace. We loved hearing from the pupils about skills they’ve learnt in the space and why they think imagination is really important.
