You are invited to…Lab Learn: Rube Goldberg Machine
Join us at the Imagination Lab for a session of exploring, experimenting and tinkering with the team from Kids Invent Stuff.
We’ll be exploring the wonderful world of Rube Goldberg Machines, by collaboratively planning and building our own machine to test in the Lab. Designed to perform a simple task, a Rube Goldberg machine uses lots of moving parts that work together to complete the machine’s intended action. Often, these machines consist of a series of simple devices that are linked together to produce a domino effect, in which each device triggers the next one, and the original goal is achieved only after many steps.
At this Lab Learn, schoolchildren will be able to plan their own section of a Rube Goldberg Machine, using ingenuity and imagination, then work together in groups to join the sections and create one giant chain reaction.
When is Lab Learn: Rube Goldberg Machine?
This session is on Wednesday 7th November and runs between 10:00am – 14:00pm.
Who is Lab Learn: Rube Goldberg Machine for and how much does it cost?
Lab Learn: Rube Goldberg Machine is designed for key stage 2 school children and participation is free. Please register your school’s interest in booking a session using this short form.
Who are Kids Invent Stuff?
Kids Invent Stuff is the YouTube channel where 5-11 year olds have the chance to get their invention ideas built by real engineers. Their aim is to give more primary school kids the chance to engage with real engineering projects. We love working with Kids Invent Stuff and you can see an amazing invention which they brought to life last year, Erik’s Jam Rocket, at your visit to the Imagination Lab!
