Creativity, Robots and Research: The Power of STEAM with Dr. Ethan Danahy

20th February 2020, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

The Institute of Imagination (iOi) and LEGO Education are excited to present a discussion with STEAM champion and Ed Tech expert Dr. Ethan Danahy.

Ranging from software and hardware to interfaces and environments, Prof. Danahy’s research explores how tech tools can improve interactive educational practices with a variety of ages from young learners through to higher education. He works on the design, implementation and evaluation of educational technologies, including the latest STEAM-learning robotics kit from LEGO Education – SPIKE™ Prime

In this talk, Tom Doust, Director of Experience and Learning at the Institute of Imagination will lead a conversation with Prof. Danahy exploring how to engage students in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and maths) learning experiences that champion imagination and creativity in the classroom.

Prof. Danahy will share his research on enhancing creativity and innovation in students and most importantly how to create collaborative learning experiences with young learners, something that we champion at the iOi. You’ll also get the chance to put your questions to the panel.

Prof. Danahy is a Research Assistant Professor at the Centre for Engineering Education and Outreach (CEEO) and is part of the Department of Computer Science at the School of Engineering at Tufts University, in Boston USA. He holds degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from Tufts University.
