You’re invited to Experimental Cities!
This iOi at Home programme invites you to test, tinker, experiment and explore your city! We’ll be looking at how cities are designed, structured and created both physically and digitally. Using everyday objects and digital tools, we’ll invent ways to make cities smarter. You will explore bioengineering, nature and coding as we investigate rapidly changing cities. Watch this trailer to find out more:
How can I get involved?
You can take part from your classroom, community centre or sofa! All you have to do is head over to home.ioi.london where you can find all our videos and guides to help you explore your city. You can learn how to build a DIY Microscope, create your own paper city, or design a digital city using augmented and virtual reality.
If you’re from a school or community centre in Newham and Lambeth, we’re offering in-person and digital workshops for your children and young people. You can get in touch by giving us a call on 07585009276, or emailing us; if you’re in Lambeth email firstname.lastname@example.org. For Newham email email@example.com.
What’s iOi at Home?
In this new normal we believe creativity and imagination is more important than ever. We want our activities to be available in person as well as also in the home. That’s why we are launching iOi at Home: creative projects that you can do from your kitchen table, your sofa or even from your phone!
iOi at Home is all about building new skills, supporting wellbeing and helping to adapt to our rapidly changing world. We want to support children aged 5 – 12 and their parents, carers and teachers with playful learning programmes.
How much does this cost?
Nothing – it’s free!
Who is this for?
This is for anyone aged 5 – 12 years old, including those with SEND. It can be used by after school clubs, teachers looking for creative classroom activities or parents looking to do something fun at the weekend!
Best of all, our activities can be enjoyed by the whole family! We encourage everyone to get involved with creating, tinkering and experimenting cities.
I don’t have the equipment to get involved?
If you live in Newham or Lambeth then you can borrowing equipment as part of our Digital Lending Library (DLL).
In Lambeth and Newham, we’re working closely with the Libraries to launch the DLL, and will launch it soon! You can sign up here to keep up to date.
