In this workshop we will build a microscope, using a Smart Phones and Microlense. We will then take ideas from nature, taking a closer look at the amazing shapes, patterns and colours you can see in the world around out.
Any family that signs up will receive a free microlense, to take part in the workshop.
We are also lending smartphones to any families living in Newham and Lambeth. This will be collectable from Plaistow, Carnegie or Clapham library.

Who is this for?
This is for children aged 5 – 12 years old. You can take part from home, an afterschool club or where else you might be! This workshop is also suitable for children with SEND – please just tell us what your child’s needs are before the session.
You can watch an introduction to this activity on our iOi at Home website here.
Please note: This event is ONLY for children and their parents/carers. Part of our role is to keep the children we work with safe. We require anyone joining our online sessions to put their camera and microphone on at the beginning so that we can ensure every group we work with are kept safe. If you are unable to allow us to communicate with you on camera and microphone we regret that we will not be able to let you continue with the session.

What is iOi at Home?
iOi at Home is all about building new skills, supporting wellbeing and helping to adapt to our rapidly changing world. We want to support children aged 5 – 12 and their parents, carers and teachers with playful learning programmes. It’s about building confidence and aspiration, particularly for those who need it most, with interactive online workshops and on demand content.
