You are invited to…Lab Learn: Robot Zoo
This event is now fully booked.
To celebrate EU Code Week 2018, we’re excited to be running a beginner friendly ‘hackathon’ focussed on coding and programming, while fusing technology, science and arts.
Lab Learn: Robot Zoo will be a free workshop for school children to play, explore and tinker in our Imagination Lab. Working in groups, children will create their zoo and take part in a fun showcase event at the end of the session. The goal of these animatronic animals is to delight others with unexpected animation, combining creativity, technology and humour! Participants will learn about and interact with robotics, using Birdbrain Technologies’ Hummingbird Kits. During the workshop, children will have the opportunity to design and build a Robot Zoo, creating moving robot animals that respond when interacted with.
Using craft materials, sensors, lights and servos, children will learn about coding, programming, engineering, electronics and physical prototyping whilst imagining a whacky world of robotic animals.
When is Lab Learn: Robot Zoo?
This session is on Thursday 11th October and runs between 10:00am – 16:00pm.
Who is Lab Learn: Robot Zoo for and how much does it cost?
Lab Learn: Robot Zoo is ideal for school children age 8 – 12 years and participation is free.
