You’re invited to… Lab Liftoff: Robot Zoo
Join us for a full day skills camp for children aged 7-12 exploring creative invention using micro:bit, a tiny programmable computer, designed to make learning easy and fun!
What can I expect at Lab Liftoff: Robot Zoo
A slippery snake, a hungry squirrel or a roaring lion? What will you make for the robot zoo!
Working in small teams, children will learn how to use BBC Micro:bit, a tiny programmable computer which can be used to create everything from robots to musical instruments. They’ll design, build and programme their own moving and interactive robot animal for our robot zoo.
Once they’ve got to grips with coding their Micro:bit, children will invent and design a robot animal using motors, lights and sensors, arts and crafts.
Children will learn coding and invention skills using the Make Code interface and they’ll get to stretch their creative thinking using arts and crafts to personalise and make their robot animals.
The workshop is for all abilities and allows children with previous experience of Micro:bit to work on more complicated projects.
