Lambeth Libraries: Digital Handheld Cities

17th June 2021, 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Free

You’re invited to… Lambeth Libraries: Digital Handheld Cities

iOi at Home is a new creative programme in Lambeth. iOi and Lambeth Libraries are working together to bring families in Lambeth a Digital Lending Library where equipment can be borrowed and used at home to support learning, experimentation and playing with imagination!

In this workshop we will be exploring the theme of Experimental Cities. Experimental Cities invites you to test, tinker, experiment and explore your city! We’ll take a closer look at nature and allow it to inspire us for how our cities can be designed and structured.

What’s Digital Handheld Cities?

Engage your imagination by creating your own 3D virtual world in our Digital Handheld City activity! Using a variety of exciting technologies, go on adventures through Virtual Reality to explore 3D worlds, then make your own Ecological City by taking inspiration from nature to help build your designs. Learn how to code your city to make it move and come to life! You can even hold your Digital City in your hands and explore it through Augmented Reality, which brings your Virtual creation into the real world!
