We run various community programmes for Lambeth residents and schools. Find out more about projects we are currently running here.
From 2017-2019 we ran Imagination Lab programmes from The Workshop in Lambeth. From 2020 we’ll no longer be based at The Workshop as we will be running events from new locations across London.
We will still be running activities in Lambeth and you can find out what you can get involved in here or visit our what’s on page for all our events.
We’re inviting families, classrooms and everyone else to join us in exploring, tinkering and experimenting with your city! We’ve produced a range of online resources and workshops to explore bioengineering, nature and coding as we investigate rapidly changing cities.
Workshops and on-demand videos include:
- Dynamic Paper Cities
- Biomimicry and DIY Microscopes
- Smart Cities with MicroBits (including CPD training)
- Merge Cube & VR
Launching in March, we’re inviting children and young people to tinker and experiment with movement! Throughout the spring, we’ll be running workshops and launching digital content for the home. Activities include 3D design, homemade wind tunnels and VR creations.
For those unable to access digital content in the home we will be supporting families through our Digital Lending Library. Alongside digital lending, we will also be hosting in person workshops at local iOi partner community Hubs. If you can’t come along, you can still get involved by using our free online resources, exclusive to Lambeth and Newham residents.
Want to get involved?

If you’re a partner organisation looking into sponsorship opportunities then there are a range of ways you can support the Institute of Imagination. We would love to work with you to find how you can make a real difference for children and families, in a way that means something to you.
