Covid-19 has magnified the vulnerability of children and young people living in poverty. Without access to technology, they lack basic access to the world, their school, their friends. As a result, the learning gap is expected to have worsened by at least 36%, and up to 75% for the most disadvantaged. Donate today to help bridge this digital gap.
That is why the Institute of Imagination is launching the iOi at Home: Digital Lending Library – a new digital initiative providing technology and creative iOi programmes for families in Newham, one of the boroughs hardest hit by Covid-19 in the nation, where 52% of residents are living below the poverty line.
- It’s about building skills, wellbeing and resilience in a rapidly changing world.
- It’s about supporting parents and teachers to close the learning gap as quickly as possible.
- It’s about building confidence and aspiration in those who need it most.
From 23rd June – 3rd July, every donation will be doubled thanks to the Big Give and the Childhood Trust.
