We are inviting teachers and pupils to the Imagination Lab on 20 and 21 March to experience our Imagination Pods in residency. Bring a class from your school to explore and tinker with sound, senses and spaces through arts, science and digital technology.We are inviting teachers and pupils to the Imagination Lab on 20 and 21 March to experience our Imagination Pods in residency. Bring a class from your school to explore and tinker with sound, senses and spaces through arts, science and digital technology.
We will be encouraging children to imagine new and existing worlds, both big and small. Throughout the day you will work with Institute of Imagination facilitators to build Big Worlds using our “Making Spaces” Imagination Pod and use arts, science and technology to explore Small Worlds with our “Looking and Exploring” Imagination Pod.
What will you do on the day?
The Lab will be split into two sections: Big Worlds and Small Worlds.
In Big Worlds you will be:
- creating spaces with tape, paper, fabric, straws, poles etc to create dens
- exploring the Making Spaces Pod using all the materials to create Big Worlds together
- team building, working in groups and using coordination skills
In Small Worlds you will be:
- using senses to create a small world with nature, clay and technology
- exploring our senses through play, focusing on smell, touch and sight
- Make and create your own Calcio drawings frames
- Play with digital technology to look closer and smaller things than you.
Who are the Imagination Pods for?
The Imagination Pods are designed for children in nursery and reception, students with SEN or with hearing impairments.
When is Lab Learn: Pod Residency
There are two sessions each day at 10:00 – 11:45am and 12:30 – 2:15pm on Tuesday 20 March and Wednesday 21 March. Classes can be booked onto any of the four sessions using the typeform here. There are a maximum of 30 spaces per session.
