You’re invited to… Lab Learn: Science of Sound
If your school is located in Barnet, Brent, City of London, Westminster, Camden, Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing, Harrow, Kensington and Chelsea you can sign up to a free Lab Learn: Science of Sound session.
In these schools’ sessions aimed at Key Stage 2, we will explore sound through invention, art, code and digital technology. In this collaborative event, students will work with classes from other schools to create and programme sound effects using everyday items for films, gaming and TV with our Foley Story Telling activity. Then they will learn about coding using Scratch and will explore how sounds can be programmed into visual art so that it is ‘readable’ for someone who is blind/visually impaired – or someone looking for an increased multisensory experience of a 2D artwork.
When is Lab Learn: Science of Sound?
The sessions are on 25, 26 and 27 September and run between 10.30am – 2pm.
Who is Lab Learn: Science of Sound for and how much does it cost?
Lab Learn: Science of Sound is suitable for Key Stage 2 classes at schools located in City of Westminster, Camden, Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing, Harrow, Kensington and Chelsea. There is no cost for this event, however spaces are limited. We will be working with 2 classes of 30 students on each day.
We ask that you register your interest for your class using this form. We will then get in touch with you within two weeks to confirm if you have a place. Please email imaginationlab@ioi.london if you have any questions about this event or the booking process.
These sessions are supported by the John Lyon’s Charity.
